Full-size electric bikes can be substantial machines. Weight, wheelbase, tire width and battery placement all matter when it is time to transport one.

Buying an electric bike is only half of the ownership equation.

At some point you also have to answer two very practical questions:

Where am I going to keep this bike—and how am I going to move it somewhere else?

9. Carrying an E-Bike Inside a Car or SUV

Transporting the bike inside the vehicle avoids some exterior weather exposure, but creates a different set of problems.

Measure:

Cargo Opening The bike has to fit through the opening, not just inside the cargo area.
Interior Height Handlebars or saddle height can become the limiting dimension.
